Video Production Guidelines: What Makes a Good Video
- The objective of the shoot is to develop a 30-second to two-minute video of a business or a person, place or activity of interest
- The shoot will take approximately 2 – 3 hours unless otherwise discussed
- The video will be posted to the Bermuda Yellow Pages website – bermudayp.com. In addition, the video might be posted to a Bermuda Yellow Pages folder on You Tube and might also gain exposure through other BYP marketing efforts
- Participants will be required to sign a release form granting permission for Bermuda Yellow Pages to use the video for the purposes stated in #3
- Participants will have the option of running the same video on their own website as long as they maintain the BYP brand embedded in the video
- BYP video represents a great opportunity to present current information on a business or operation, staff, products and services, etc.
- We encourage all participants to prepare in advance for the shoot. The key to creating a good video is making sure that it is an accurate reflection of the attitude and atmosphere of the business, product or activity you represent
- Think about what would make the most effective presentation for your business or operation: what do you want to say, what do you want to show, where would you like to shoot, who will represent you
- Select a spokesperson or spokespersons and make all necessary arrangements with that person. Keep in mind that the spokesperson does not have to appear on camera. A person’s voice can run over images of other people and things
- Have all areas you want to shoot prepared ahead of time and any specific set-ups arranged and in place
- Have a 30-second to 2-minute script prepared ahead of time which covers all keys aspects of your business/operation. This is best done in bullet form and used only to provide speaking points.
- Have all graphic files or images you would like included in the video available in digital format
- If a participant chooses not to supply their own spokesperson and/or script, they have the option of a music only sound track or BYP creating a voice track. Text for this would need to come from the advertisers marketing materials and choice of voice talent and music would be at BYP’s discretion
- We encourage participants to look at other videos on the BYP website by clicking on the Video icon on the home page. In addition, the site turnhere.com includes other great examples of advertiser videos. The style is fun, engaging and contemporary which is what holds viewers attention online
