The
official speed limit in Bermuda is 35 kilometers
per hour for all vehicles, or approximately 26
miles per hour. Use of seat belts is law.
Car
rental is not available for residents or visitors,
but visitors do have several transportation options.
Bermuda’s distinctive pink buses cover the
island from end to end and offer frequent and affordable
service. Ferries also travel a variety of routes
and provide a wonderful new perspective of the
island. Check the Bus
Schedules for routes, schedules and fare information.
Please note, exact change or tokens are required.
If you will be using the buses and ferries frequently
it is most convenient and affordable to buy a 1,
3, or 7-day pass. Monthly passes are also available.
Passes and tokens are available at the Central
Terminal in Hamilton, next to City Hall, and the
Visitors Service Bureau.
For
independent, wind-in-your-face sightseeing, scooters
are available for rental. A valid driver’s
license is required. Rates and other details can
be obtained by contacting companies listed in the Cycles,
Sales, Service & Rentals heading in your Yellow
Pages™. Please take note, in Bermuda
we drive on the left. At roundabouts you must give
way to traffic coming from your right. Pedestrians
have the right-of-way on all cross-walks. Hamilton
also has a few tricky rules as you exit the city.
Observe the signs and take your time.

If
you would like a taxi tour of the island, look
or ask for a (Bermuda Department of Tourism) certified
Blue Flag taxi driver. The taxis are usually marked
with blue flags both inside and out. As multiple
drivers sometimes use the same taxi, confirm that
the driver on duty is a certified Blue Flag driver.

accessible taxi service is available. You’ll
also find a very stylish London taxi operating
in Bermuda.
