  • Woman’s suffrage was granted with property qualification in 1944
  • Pamela Gordon was appointed Bermuda’s first female Premier in 1997
  • Bermuda’s first broadcasting station was established in 1946
  • In 1998 the Progressive Labour Party won its first general election marking the only change in Government since the establishment of party politics thirty years prior
