Home Care
Home care refers to those community and health related services that are designed to maintain a patient at home. Home care may include nursing and/or personal hygiene care.

• The Department of Health through its Community Health Services offers community home care services to every parish in Bermuda. These services are in great demand and require a referral
• The Department of Health's Community Health Visitors, among other services, provide at-home nursing assessments for seniors who may be in need of additional community health care or residential care placement
• The Department of Health's District Nurses offer monitoring of recently released hospital patients and
primary care nursing, and restricted homecare among other services
• The Department of Health's, Home Resource Aides work with both the Community Health Visitors and the District Nurses in providing minimal home care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLS, such as bathing and personal hygiene.

The staff of the Home Care Programme are committed to delivering quality Home Health Care Services that ensure patients receive an optimum continuum of care from hospital back into the community. All medical supplies are included with the exception of prescription medication drugs. The service is available daily until 10 pm. It is also limited to within 60 days of hospital admission date, with a maximum of 60 additional visits based on a physician's certification. The Hospital Home Care Programme is complementary to existing sponsored and private community home care services.

Provides services to enable seniors and convalescent and disabled persons to remain in their homes for as long as possible. Services offered include household management, light cleaning, shopping, light meal preparation, transportation to doctors’ appointments and companionship. Services provided until 9:00 pm weekdays, weekends and holidays. Cost: $25/hour. Holidays $50/hour
