The Department of Parks is a governed by the Bermuda National Parks Act 1986. We are responsible for the maintenance and administration of outdoor recreational spaces on the island.
These areas are maintained in order to protect, enhance and regulate the natural and historic value of each for use by present and future generations, and to derive social and economic benefits. We are also responsible for providing trained and professional lifeguard services at public beaches and producing annual agricultural exhibitions, as well as planning and landscape maintenance. We protect and preserve open spaces and manage cultural and natural resources within Bermuda's national park system.
