Located in Hamilton, Bermuda's Rent Commission falls under the Ministry of Home Affairs and Department of Consumer Affairs.

 

We are responsible for administering and enforcing rent increases as per the regulations of the Rent Increases (Domestic Premises) Control Rules 1972, Rent Increases (Scientific Research Institutions) Order 1975 and Landlord & Tenant Act 1974. We’re responsible for decision making and regulating the amount and terms for rent to be increased, the protection of tenants from arbitrary evictions and hearing and ruling on undesirable tenant cases. We mediate and resolve rental property issues and are responsible for establishing the ground rules for renting a property. We safeguard the right of landlords and tenants and encourage them to be aware of their rights and responsibilities.
