Bermuda School of Music - Spring Concert

The 'Spring Concert' by the Bermuda School of Music will be held at St. John's Church in Pembroke on June 9th and 10th .

 

The Bermuda School of Music presents a Spring Concert, according to a spokeswoman. The Bermuda School of Music Youth Choir performs alongside The Bermuda Chamber Choir & Orchestra.

 

Friday, June 9th, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, June 10, 7:30 p.m.

 

Marjorie Pettit is the director, and Kerry Haslam is the conductor.
Featuring W.A. Mozart's Requiem in D minor.

On Friday, June 9th, and Saturday, June 10th, the Bermuda Chamber Choir & Orchestra will play in director Marjorie Pettit's Spring Concert alongside the youth choir from the Bermuda School of Music.

 

Works by Mozart, Handel, Borodin, Verdi, and Humperdinck are included in the program for an exhilarating and nostalgic tasting of the classics

 

Mozart worked on the Requiem in D minor until the evening of his passing. It was commissioned by a German aristocrat for a Requiem Mass in honor of his late wife.

Given the passing of the Queen in September, it is regarded as one of the greatest choral Requiem works.

In addition to these great works, also included in the programme some children’s choral highlights from the Opera “Hansel and Gretel”.
