Habitat Bermuda is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, which was founded in the United States in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller. Since its inception, Habitat International has built and renovated more than 400,000 homes with families in need all around the world. Habitat has continued to partner with the American Counsul, several schools, the Coalition for the Protection of Children and more recently, Age concern as a source of both new families in need as well as volunteers to help with our projects.
Habitat’s objective is to complete 12 individual projects over the course of a 12 month period in order to improve the living conditions of those 12 families in need. In order to do so, families will be prioritized where there are children, elderly or disabled individuals residing in a residence. The ultimate hope is to ensure that families do not live in unsafe, substandard or unhealthy environments.
