Description

The Jackson School of Performing Arts (JSPA) was founded in 1953 by Louise Jackson, with an enrolment of forty students. In 1999, with the retirement of Mrs. Jackson, Jeanne Legere took over the School and became Managing Director/Partner.

Today, the school has an enrolment of hundreds of students, reflecting all segments of our community. At present, JSPA offers a ballet, tap, modern, jazz, hip-hop, yoga, Pilates and BarreOne, in addition to creative dance at TeeterTots and Little Learners pre-schools. The school also offers dance classes for middle school students at Warwick Academy.

The school owes its success to its talented teachers, who have produced hundreds of students with a strong technique and deep appreciation for the Arts. Our aim is to develop intelligent and passionate dancers, by training both the mind and the body.

In 2003, JSPA formed a ‘Performance Class’ for those students who would like to strengthen their performance abilities and be able to perform outside the annual recital. These dancers can be seen at events around the island all throughout the year.

Our priority at JSPA is our students and how they benefit, grow, and develop with the addition of dance and movement into their daily activities, and their lives. Our main goal is to ensure that our students not only enjoy coming to class, but look forward to it. If we can instill in them a love of the arts and the opportunity to make new friends, then we have reached our goal.
