Located in Hamilton, The Department of Immigration is responsible for determining who can enter Bermuda and the duration of their stay. We also process requests for Bermudian status.

Our mission is to serve tourists and protect Bermuda for the benefit of residents and visitors. Our authority is derived from the Bermuda Immigration and Protection Act 1956 and we operate under the Ministry of Home Affairs. We handle a comprehensive variety of services for the government, including processing applications for permanent residency, work permits, travel documents, licenses to purchase land, landing permits, airline ticket validation, deportation, applications for naturalization as a British Overseas Territories Citizen and requests for permission to reside, seek employment and attend school in Bermuda.
