Welcome to The Upstairs Closet, the heart of the Bermuda Red Cross Thrift Shop. Established in 2011, our shop is more than just a place to find incredible deals—it is a community hub that turns pre-loved fashion into life-saving humanitarian aid.
Located at Charleswood in Paget, we offer a carefully curated selection of high-quality, gently used clothing and accessories for men and women. Every dollar spent at our shop stays right here in Bermuda, directly funding our local disaster relief, equipment rentals, and community health programs. By choosing to shop with us, you are supporting a sustainable future for our island and helping us provide essential services to those who need them most.
Why Visit the Upstairs Closet?
We are located at the Bermuda Red Cross headquarters, 11 Berry Hill Road, Paget. Our shop is situated at the back of the building, toward the East side of the property. Just follow the signs once you arrive! What are your opening hours? We are open for shoppers on: Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Saturday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
We accept Cash and Credit Cards. Please note that we are unable to accept cheques at this time.
To protect your items from Bermuda’s unpredictable weather, please only drop off donations during our operating hours: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. Please do not leave bags outside when the shop is closed, as rain can quickly damage the clothing.
We currently accept high-quality, gently used: Women’s Clothing (Dresses, tops, pants, etc.) Men’s Clothing (Shirts, trousers, suits, etc.) Shoes and Accessories (Handbags, belts, scarves) Note: We do not accept household wares, furniture, or electrical appliances.
To help our volunteers manage the sorting process, we ask that you bring donations in bags no larger than a 13-gallon trash bag. Standard shopping bags are ideal!
100% of the proceeds from the Upstairs Closet stay in Bermuda. The funds go directly toward supporting our local humanitarian efforts, including disaster management, the equipment rental service, and transport for the elderly.
We believe in zero waste. Excess or unsold stock is donated to local churches, agencies working with vulnerable populations, and the unsheltered community in Bermuda. We also support charities that travel to needy areas around the globe.
Yes! Our shop is powered by one full-time staff member and 18 dedicated volunteers. If you have a passion for fashion and community service, please call us at 441-236-3836 to inquire about joining the team.
