October in Bermuda may not mean sweaters and changing leaves, but it’s still a great time to slow down, enjoy comforting food, plan a little escape and spend more time outdoors. Here are four ways to settle into the season.
A change of pace doesn’t have to mean leaving the island. Plan a quiet reset at Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa, where a few days by the water can make an ordinary week feel like a getaway. The Fall Into Paradise offer includes 10% off stays of two to four nights or 15% off stays of five to six nights, plus a complimentary welcome amenity. Book by October 31, 2026, subject to the offer’s terms.
Nothing says slow weekend quite like a proper roast. At Island Brasserie, settle in for a long lunch, catch up over the table and let someone else take care of the cooking.
The weekend brunch menu features roast beef, pork belly, lamb shank and half chicken, served with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese and vegetables. Brunch is listed for Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 AM–4 PM—a lovely excuse to make an afternoon of it.
An unhurried afternoon can feel like a treat in itself. Put the week on pause, invite someone along and make time for tea, sweet bites and a proper catch-up.
At Crown & Anchor, afternoon tea features finger sandwiches, tarts, macarons and scones paired with LOT 35 loose-leaf teas. It’s listed Monday through Saturday from 3–5 PM. For another setting, The Rosedon offers Friday afternoon tea with fine teas, house-made pastries, savoury bites and live music. Both are lovely excuses to slow down and make an afternoon of it; check the listings for reservation details.
When you’re ready for some fresh air, spend an afternoon at Spittal Pond in Smith’s Parish. Follow the paths through Bermuda’s largest nature reserve, pause to look for birds around the pond and take in the South Shore coastline. It’s a lovely way to slow down and enjoy the island outdoors as October settles in.
