I am Brave: Voices - 2-Day Anti-Violence Youth Forum

Raleigh Bermuda is urgently calling all Young Bermudians between the ages of 14 – 17 years old to register for a 2-Day Anti-Violence Youth Forum called: I AM BRAVE: VOICES.


This Youth Forum is led by Raleigh Bravers who have been trained in anti-violence advocacy and will be leading this community event. A youth event led by empowered youth.


Raleigh Bermuda believes the presence and voice of our young people matters. Raleigh will support our young people by giving the tools on how to engage and tackle hard conversations about:

 

  • Gang/ Street Violence
  • Anger management
  • Bullying
  • Hyper Sexuality
  • Drugs/ Alcohol
  • And much more.

 

Ley your voice be heard!

  • A safe space for youth to callaborate
  • Introduction to anti-violence / advocacy
  • Share experiences
  • Talk aboue what matters to you.

 

 

HOW TO TAKE PART

 

Dates: February 14 & 15 10:00am - 3:00pm

Location: TBA

The forum is free with refundable deposit* and open to all high school students ages 14 – 17 years old. Limited Spaces Available. Food will also be provided.

*A refundable deposit of $25 is required at the time of registration to secure a spot. If the registered student attends the entire two-day forum the deposit will be refunded at the end of the month. Should the registered student fail to be present for the entirety of the forum, your deposit will be kept as a donation towards Raleigh Bermuda's youth development programmes.

 

 

ABOUT THE FORUM

 

The Youth Forum is an extension of Raleigh Bermuda’s community discussion “Drugs, Gangs and Corner Boys. Is my Child being Recruited? on July 24, 2022, which was in partnership with the Bermuda Police Service and Pathways Bermuda.


At the summer Community Presentation, Raleigh Bermuda shared their experiences and findings in working with young people regarding violence, gang recruitment, drugs, and street grooming. In 2020, Raleigh Bermuda developed and launched the “I am Brave” Programme for high school students which has become one of the most successful and impactful anti-violence and advocacy programme on island.

 


ABOUT RALEIGH BERMUDA

 

Raleigh serves over 200+ young people between the ages of 14 – 35 years old on island. The organization is well known for its Brave: Anti-Violence and Venturers’ Scholarship programme in the community and recognized for having one of the highest retention rates of young people on island. Raleigh Bermuda nurtures and fosters relationships with young people to support them as they transition into adulthood. The charity provides life skills that helps our young people become independent, confident, and leaders in our community.
